About Us

For many years, the Potomac Baptists Association (PBA) felt the need for a Southern Baptist Church in the Dunkirk area. On January 25, 1993 the PBA voted unanimously to fund the mission effort an to call Rev. Dennis Felder to establish and pastor the mission church.

On March 21, 1993, Dunkirk Baptist Church held it's first worship service at Northern High School. In October 1993, the membership voted to call Rev. Felder to a full time ministry.

In May 6, 1995, the church voted to call Mr. Gary Vinson as the Minister of Music.

In September 1995, the church purchased 16 acres in Dunkirk. Ground was broken for our building in May 1998.

The church building took shape throughout the summer and fall of 1998 through the efforts of our church family volunteers and volunteer building teams from Alabama.

On Sunday, March, 7, 1998 Dunkirk Baptist Church opened the doors for it's first worship service in it's new home. With Sunday School and Worship fully in place each Sunday, a Wednesday evening service and a wide variety of special services, our members are striving toward fulfilling the "Great Commission".
