MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
How to join DBC:
SALVATION EXPERIENCE
Church membership is dependent upon your relationship with Jesus Christ. In order to be a church member, you must first attest to your faith in Christ and your acceptance of Him as your Lord and Savior.
BAPTISM
Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old sinful life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.
REQUEST FOR MEMBERSHIP
Formally express your desire to join the membership of the church by approaching a pastor or deacon, coming forward during a church worship service, and filling out a membership application. DBC accepts new members based upon one of the following:
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
Attend a New Member's orientation conducted by a pastor or deacon to learn about DBC's mission and vision, Baptist teachings, ministry opportunities, and church leadership.
CONGREGATIONAL AFFIRMATION
Candidates for membership will be presented to the church congregation during a business meeting for congregational affirmation. Once membership has been affirmed, the new member will be able to vote at business meetings and be considered for elective leadership positions.
