Ready and equipped to forward the gospel; uncompromising in our efforts to live like Jesus; Disciples making Disciples  (Matthew 28:19)

Here's some of what is going on this week and beyond...

Serving our Community:

We plan to have serving times for Dad's & Son's / Mom's & Daughter's monthly, on the last Saturday of every month.

THIS Saturday, February 26th Dave will be leading Men & Boys to build a playground for immigrants at a safe house in SE DC.

PLEASE register for this activity here:

There will also be an activity for Women & Girls on this same day, February 26th

You can register for this activity here:

You can also register for these serving opportunities via the DBC website (

If you have questions about these opportunities, please contact:

Pastor Chris ( / (309) 857-5650)NOTE: REGISTRATION is essential for us getting details communicated to you and for necessary preparations to be made for our work to be efficiently and effectively done.
High School Hangout is temporarily on hold. I'll keep you posted for when we begin meeting as only high schoolers again. Stay posted.

We meet on Wednesday's @ 7pm - 8:30pm

For the month of January, we will be meeting in the Main building (1st classroom on the left on the children's wing).

Last night we focused on the variety of helpful tools that can help in times of darkness. These include relationships, music, solitude, breathing, Scripture meditation, among others. Not every tool works for every person. They need to be tried and practiced in order to find what works best for you.
Some more resources I've come across are:

Reimagining the Ignatian Examen ( - this is a book and an app that helps you focus on God, truth, hope, healing, and wholeness.

I recently discovered a YouTube channel that has created tools to help. It's called Alabastar  ( this site has quite a bit to chose from.

03/02/22 - Next Wednesday we will continue our look at tools and steps to spiritual stability in a stressful world. We'll look at feeding of the 5,000 and the Sermon on the Mount to guide us through right priorities and perspectives.

03/09/22 - we will be using most of our time "practicing" some of the disciplines of healthy thinking.

03/16/22 - GAME NIGHT!!

WANTED - If anyone has a sturdy Ping Pong table they'd be willing to donate, I'd love to have one in the Connect Center in order to have some more active games to play during our casual times.

SUNDAY - 1st Peter
We meet for Sunday School at 9am. I will be in-person & have Zoom open for those joining virtually.

We began an 8-week study on the book of 1 Peter. This past Sunday we dealt with the reality of suffering IN the practice of faithfulness. It should be no surprise for the Christ-follower, but it always is.

DBC Youth Praise Jam!
If your youth is interested in participating in the Sunday services occasionally, let me know.  THIS Sunday (03/27/22) I have a Sunday School Teacher's meeting, so I will not be able to have the Praise Jam
Contact me if you have any questions.

If you want to get involved with helping the youth of Dunkirk Baptist Church thrive in their faith, contact me. I'd love to find a place where your gifts and interests can produce eternal fruit.

I would like help on Wednesday nights with leading game time and small group discussion time.  I need Middle School Sunday School teachers.

In principle, I want to have 2 adults (one teaching and another assistant/backup) in each Sunday School class (1. H.S. Girls, 2. H.S. Boys, M.S. Girls, & M.S. Boys)

Any parents/adults who would like to assist me in organizing some Events & Activities, PLEASE contact me.
